King is responsible for delivering the strategy, growth and investment performance of the IOOF alternatives portfolio. He has more than 25 years’ industry experience, starting at Towers Perrin in 1990, where he was manager, asset consulting. In 1994, he joined Industry Fund Services, where he was responsible for the development of its asset consulting and funds management businesses. In 2000, he founded Sovereign Investment Research, providing specialist investment advice and consulting to institutional investors and investment managers. Also in 2000, he became the founding chair of the Australian Chapter of the Investment Management Consultants Association, where he was made a life member in 2012. Prior to joining the investment industry, he was chief economist with the State Electricity Commission of Victoria and Telstra. King has earned a bachelor’s degree in economics (honours) from Monash University.
